Nice pic marie! The lady in the middle stands out because of her shoes. Now what parade was this? And these are seafaring lassies?

the tall ships visited our country a few times and last time was in July
in Waterford City
http://www.pbase.com/image/49999985/original
the parade of the crew members and musicians near the close of the festival is a wonderful sight
I am usually not mad about parades
this one was the very best
so enjoyable
people from all over the world taking part made it very special
http://www.tallshipsraces.com/
this is part of the information the url here explains about the ships and crew
"During the race series the young crews get the chance to gain experience by sailing with their contemporaries from other countries while facing the physical and emotional challenges that only the ocean can provide."

I like this because they aren't really aware of having their photo taken and you can see they are all caught up in their own moments. I like photos where the subject is off guard.

Interesting shot, Marie. Though they look a bit short to crew a Tall ship. ;)

Tall Ships Accept Able Volunteers for Ocean Adventures? (http://www.transitionsabroad.com/publications/magazine/0109/seaborn.shtml) They say " Daily Life: The schedule at sea is for 24 hours a day.!" I already don't have a life! :D
One of them says, " Although the British speak English, I found their speech almost impossible to understand for the first week." :D :D :D I once had to call the airport to get our cam equipment out of customs. The guy spoke Cockney. You can guess how that went!

Very nice shot Marie. I was almost (not quite) surprised to see an image that you hadn't done your photoshop magic to.

If I got a million I would not do it

that sentence stuck in my mind too when I read it
funny you should quote it
but maybe they had difficulty understanding her too
by the way , did you see her surname Frank

I can imagine if the cam equipment was a real problem it only added to the frustration
 at the end of the day I bet you found they were very helpful
(hope so)
