I have a d60 and I don't understand why it is softer when I shoot in raw mode with my setting on High sharpen, than jpeg mode with normal sharpen.

I want to use the raw mode because of the better quality of the color but don't want to loose sharpen

What is my problem?

I transfer with Canon raw image converter! Is is the problem?

When you use RAW the camera doesn't apply any sharpening. You have to do it "post processing" I have heard RAW images described as like a negative i.e. just the data from the sensor capture - nothing else. JPEG, has had in-camera processing so, will always be sharper than RAW.

You need a good RAW conversion program.

Get a program like Breezebrowser (you can download a dree demo), YarcPlus or the Adobe Raw Convertor plugin. I have used all 3. Without having done any real serious testing I like the Adobe plugin the best, since it fits my workflow the best.
