I just bought a new G2. Now considering to buy a UV filter, Circular polarizing lens, and a Flourescent lens. I have zero knowledge about these (never used them before). What size should I buy to fit G2 ? Any brand (and price) to recommend? Thanks.

Before you decide on filter size, you have to figure out which adapter you are going to use. The three most popular ones are:
Canon: 58mm
Lensmate: 49mm
Tiffen: 43mm (sorry, I previously typed 37mm here - Tiffen has a 37mm line for Canon A10/A20 cameras.)
There are others, but these are the most common.
Many G1/G2 users like lensmate. This is made by a small company and they sell exclusively from http://www.lensmateonline.com/. They have a new G2 colored model coming out next week. This company has great customer support.
Once you determine this, you can buy filters. I am a beginner too, but definitely avoid cheap uncoated filters. Remember all the light hitting the CCD has to go through your filter. :)
Many people swear by B+W. The B+W 010 multi-coated filter is a good choice for general lens-protection use.
I like to buy filters from bhphotovideo.com. They have nice search capability and they are a reputable dealer.
And just to show that I really am a beginner, what is a flourescent lens?

The lensmate seems interesting for macro shooting... but what wide-angle or tele lenses could you use with it? Obviously not Canon's...

For G2, what's the best (or most economic) adapter - filters - tele/wide angle combination ?

Considering the total cost of G2 + adapters + tele lens + wide angle lens, maybe Minolta Dimage-7 is a reasonable choice, which comes with a 28mm - 200 mm zoom lens. Plus it is a 5 MP camera.

The Olympus A28 WA converter lens is 49mm and very good quality. No need for a step-ring to use it with lensmate.
The Oly B300 Teleconverter is 55mm so you would need a step-up ring. Unfortunately this lens is hard to find, but if you're diligent ...
The Tiffen Megaplus teleconverter is 43mm, so you would need a step-down ring. I am not sure about this, but I've heard that Tiffen may actually include this ring with the lens.

i'm using the uv just for protection... in case snow gets in, if you notice, when the lens is fully extended, there's a bit of a shake, it appears flimsy to me, so, i got the adapter and a uv for protection as well as preventing snow and stuff from getting in between the lens and body. but be warned, the adapters partially block the flash.
i'm using the hoya cir-pl filter, it's a beautiful filter. in my opinion, the flourescent is not necessary as the g2 has a white balance setting for it.
