Hi
Following hundred's of out-of-focus shots (and testing my 10D with a ruler scale), I decided it simply would not focus correctly, either manually or automatically (as described at great length in this forum). I sent it into Canon at Elstree for repair/replacement - incidentally, I have taken many in-focus shots with other cameras so I don't think it's me. ;)
For those intending to take their camera in, Canon's repair department don't ackowledge there is any focus issue with the 10D range and won't replace the camera without testing. The turnaround time for testing and repair is between 10 and 15 days and there was no offer of a replacement camera.
While I realise there is no choice but to get faulty cameras looked at by Canon, bear in mind the above turnaround times.
