I love the Canon S400 I just got last week. It's light years ahead of the Casio 3200. Not quite in the same league as the Nikon D100 I shoot jobs with, but the just the ticket for vacations, etc. The optics are terrific, the color is clean, the shutter quick for it's type. A greta camera.
Here's the problem: with the Casio and the Nikon, I download directly from the camera and the software dumps it all into one folder, which is labeled by the date (ie 20030512 - today's date). It also includes some useless HTML, which i then delete. I can use Photoshop to browse the file and pull pix to work on them or print them as needed w/o having to make myself crazy.
The Canon when directly plugged in, uses Photoshop also, but each photo is sloooooowly opened, one at a time, and each has to be saved, one at a time, which is a pain. The only way I can get it to work quickly is in XP, where I can directly download using the software that came with the CASIO, (which incidently, works w/Nikon also).
My other computer at home, running WIN98, will let me download the Flash Card w/ a reader into a file (I think), but not directly off the camera. Is there a software that downloads quicker, as I'm used to? A million thanks in advce, Cliff Moore
