The first rule of voting. Please please please leave a comment when you vote. This contest really comes alive when people just drop in,say hi and perhaps tell us why they voted for a particular photo. It makes the contest more fun and gives really great feedback for the photographers.

Other stuff:
The poll will remain open for 7 days.
You can vote for three photos. Your vote will be public
Please don't vote for your own photos!
As before there will 1st, 2nd and 3rd place positions.
No prizes, sorry
I will be announcing the names (aliases) of the people who win. Send me a PM if you don't want your name to be announced. All the photos can be viewed here (http://canondigitalphotographycontests.fotopic.net/)

I vote 20, 9 and 11 as my favourite in that order.

I'll start off the reasons why as many have voted but not posted why. I think the detail and expression is very good. the lighting is also very good.

The scenic location makes the second one good

The lighting and shadows make the third one look very good.

Many good and funny pictures here, but also many slightly out-of-focus and some with high noise due to bad lighting conditions.

My absolute favourite is #8 - artistic and funny. Well done! My other votes go to #12 as the technically best B/W pic in this set and to #35 because of the funny idea.

I voted 2, 29 and 31 (in no particular order) as I am a fan of reflected images.

First off, I’m not a tech wiz… so I am voting on what is appealing to my eye:

Most favorite is 25… it’s very natural: the lighting really shows the textured beauty of the subjects face and brings out the freckles… and I like how it draws focus to the eyes and gives a balanced look to the face.

Next is 10: like the composition…

Then, 11: the image, to me, invokes an air of mysterious proportions… in some sense, something we all carry that with us as an online entity.

I voted for #9... I'm a sucker for night cityscapes. A well done photo.

I voted for 11, 20, and 30 because I love the hard but minimal light in the deep darkness. It gives an extremely focussed and intimate look at the personality of the subject.

I voted for
#9 really good colors, interesting light balance and good flow.
#33 I voted for primarily for the cool use of texture
#19 Great lighting and intense look

I really wanted to vote for #5 but I was out of votes.
Nice composition on #4.
#21 makes me smile :)
I like the story telling quality of #14.
I like the creative endeavour of #16.
#32 has some intersting lines.
And of course I like mine #8 ;)

Great shots everyone!

You'll have to get Big_B to edit it, unless you can vote again. ;)

There's so many nice shots, and similar ones also, makes it very hard to choose a best. I may take another look next week.

I voted for #31 bathroom mirror as my favorite, I really like the layout and composition. The way each reflection has it's own uniqueness about it.
My second favorite is #4 untitled... just a calm and relaxing photo, pleasant to look at and my third favorite is #12 Only me. Again, a nicely composed image of a pleasant subject.

jr#8 - Try again, it goes down ocassionally.

My votes go to
25 - Beautifully done professonal portrait
34 - The title made me laugh out loud
37 - Reminds me of a political caracture

11 - Great simple lighting that makes the features jump out at you
19 - Very similar to 11, but a softer version that emphasises the lines of time to me more
29 - There's something wonderfully simple about this that I like. The stiff pose and the harsh weather convey sorrow to me. For some reason it makes me think of post-Beatles Lennon!

Looks like a very close race!!

Hi all.
Great pics.

I voted for #15, #25, #21

#15, The eyes have it.

#25, This person looks very relaxed and confident.

#21, I'm still trying to figure out if she's outside trying to get in, or
inside hoping to get out soon. Either way, it's a nice shot.

Those are my picks.

Hey guys,

Been away for a while, I voted for the following:

11: Great Image - Lighting is cool and the face has loads of character
28: I liked the lighting in this one.
35: The idea was cool here - the head was connected to the body, yet it wasnt (if that makes sense?) :)

Great pictures overall - well done to all.

I voted for 5, 21 & 24. in numerical order only.

Although a lot of technically good photo's were submitted, only a handfull actually met my personal definition of 'Self Portrait'. These three were the ones that kept me looking for more than a couple of seconds so there was something about the photos that had that something extra.
