Incubus at PNC Bank Arts Center 2011

This was a strange show for me. Not from a band perspective as Incubus sounded great and put on a great performance. Normally photographer’s rules are first 3 songs, no flash. On this night we were told we can shoot songs 4, 5, and 6. My first reaction was that they were doing this because something cool was going to happen during those 3 songs. Sometimes its a cool things with the lights, the crowd, or maybe a special guest. On this night I got to shoot 2 ballads. Huh? I like energy when I shoot and I basically got to shoot Brandon making love to his mic. I don’t get it.

That's how all Incubus shows are for shooters. The basic idea is that they don't move around as much during the first few songs and aren't all sweaty and such, which makes for boring pictures.

all auto focus. IDK a concert photographer who shoots manual focus. i do use manual exposure though.
