I'm planning on making my first digital purchase by buying a digital rebel XT (8.0MP). I already own a Canon EF 100-300 zoom which came with my 35mm rebel, a sigma EX DG Aspherical 24-70mm f/2.8, and a 100mm macro lens from Phoenix. Will those last two lenses function just as well on the XT as they do on my film rebel?

The Sigma 24-70 will be a very useful lens indeed on your XT but I've no idea about the other one.

The off-brand lenses sometimes have a problem with the autofocus and auto-exposure due to incompatibilities with Canon firmware. Some of them can be re-chipped to work on the newer bodies. If you mount them and get an error, check with the manufacturer of the lens to see if they will upgrade it.
Good luck, and welcome to the forum.
