accessories (lense, filters, convertor) for a610

photo shop salesperson discouraged me from purchasing any lenses, etc. because it did not make sense spending any more money...

his rationale was save your money and when ready buy a next level up camera....

would like to get some additional input...

I think the answer is totally dependent on what sort of photography you would like to do, and what you find lacking in the 610 now. The salesperson may be correct... you can only go so far with some small cameras. However, what would be the "next level up" for you? More megapixels? More zoom? Are you prepared to take the leap to a DSLR? (etc.)
