Has anyone else had intermittant problems with the black automatic lens cover not wanting to open fully upon power on?

I have to give it a tiny nudge with my finger nail about half the time for it to fully pop open. I'm talking about the black panel on the front of the lens that serves as an automatic lens cap and is divided into 2 pieces.

I sent a letter to canon about it to the tech support and am waiting for a reply. I just hate to be without a camera for very long.

If I choose not to send in the camera now, will Canon hold it against me if I send it in later?

How long are cameras typically gone for? Christmas and lots of birthdays are coming up in my family of course :P

My brother's A510 has that problem too. I also saw the same thing in a display A510 at a store. So you're not the only one. Fortunately my A95 hasn't had that problem (and I've taken almost 4000 pictures with it since I bought it last July).
