I like the tight crop. But to me this picture is just a little off balance. I would either like to see just a little more of the top of his head, orcut a little off the bottom of the frame. Of course everyone might not agree on issues that are subjective like this, but that's my story and I'm sticking to it. :p

The crop works very nice, I would try to burn highlights a bit.
thanx for sharing,

I feel that when cropping it should be done with the 1st thought as to how it enhances the photo or accents part of it...or leads the eye to a specific area...I do not see this in this photo...There seems to be no reason for chopping off the top of the head and then leaving a lagre blank, dark area to the right, other than putting the subject off center, which I do not find always as necessary in portraits as in other types of shots...it leaves this otherwise well done photo a bit unballanced, and my eyes serching for whatever the crop is trying to lead my eyes to...other than that ,I like it!

Peachman put to words my thoughts on the photo....better than I could at that. ;) It's a great photo...maybe try a different crop? I love the contrast of it.
