The guys at Hertz Rent a Car had the bright idea to rent these unique cars. After Sebring one year, they learned that that it had become the Hertz Rent-A-Racer! 1,000 were made in 1966. This one is a clone.
See the card for more info.

From the site: http://www.qv500.com/shelbygt350p2.php
"All were supplied with Gold sill stripes that read GT350H, many also being kitted out with matching Le Mans centre stripes. Around 80% were painted Raven Black, the remaining 20% being split primarily between Wimbledon White and Candyapple Red. Quickly earning itself the nickname ‘Rent-a-Racer', this was after some Hertz customers headed straight for the track. Others even exchanged the powerful Shelby motors for standard units in their own personal Mustang's. All Hertz GT350's got Magnum 500's as standard, early examples being equipped with the Borg-Warner four-speed manual."

The real thing is rare as hen's teeth (almost), and fantastic. Buy one, make it a show-only trailer queen. Also buy a base fastback, clone it for Hertzoid body appearance, but with 4-wheel discs, rack-and-pinion, a 347 stroker, Tremec gearbox, a roll cage, and Corbeau buckets.

nice shots... but don't like that car that much, since its not a real one, its a replica conversion(convertible even!)

but don't like that car that much, since its not a real one, its a replica conversion(convertible even!) I understand, but who can afford to drive the real thing? That's why you see some guys driving the S. Africa made Cobra clone. Carroll Shelby even signed the glove box cover on one, so they can't be all bad! ;)
