wow, this is totally cool. I did not know this was an option with cameras at this level. I'm also interested in the equipment recommended for such projects as I found via google at: http://www.ecliptique.com/fullscreen2/hd/lib2.html
thanks!

Any camera should do, as long as it has a tripod mount and a manual mode. Set it at manual and keep aperture and shutter speed consistant, and then move the camera on the tripod slightly for every image. Its a long process.
As for creating the quicktime thing, I have no idea - look on the apple website.

What's your take on this camera now that you've had it for a while? I'm looking to get one for my mom for Christmas. She needs something that's foolproof but I also want to make sure she gets something that can take an awesome picture. I like the affordability of the A610 considering the rich feature set.

Does the A610 come with photo editing software? What would be a good package for a novice for editing photos? (fixing brightness, contrast, etc.)

The GIMP is good, though the learning curve might be steep for a complete beginner. Fortunately there are tutorials on the web :D.
The GIMP is free too!

Thx. I downloaded the Windows version. It looks pretty powerful.
