The updated 105mm F2.8 EX DG OS HSM Macro (http://www.sigmaphoto.com/shop/105mm-f28-ex-dg-os-hsm-sigma) lens now features Sigma’s own proprietary Optical Stabilizer (OS) technology. Sigma’s Hyper Sonic Motor (HSM) feature ensures quiet and high-speed autofocus as well as full-time manual focus capability. This lens also has a rounded nine-blade diaphragm that creates an attractive blur to the out-of-focus areas of the image.

I’ve only had it for just over a day now, but so far, it’s been a winner for me..! The 1:1 true macro is amazing, and the AF mechanism is near silent. The colors, contrast, and the sharpness - very, very happy with ‘em all.

And the $200 current rebate isn’t bad, either. :) The focus ring isn’t nearly as smooth as the one on Zeiss 100 that it replaced, but it’s not bad.

All in all, very happy with the choice.

The only knock that I can think of is its regular price. When it almost costs as much as its major brand competitor, i.e., Canon 100L, it is not going to win that market segment, let’s face it.

At its current promotional price, around $770, it is an attractive option, however.

I want to by the L but I am consider saving some money to buy other lenses ,
I cannot take a decision yet ... as we don't have sigma services in my country

I don’t think they call it “hybrid”, but their OS works really well. I haven’t had any issues with it, albeit I've only had the lens for a short while.

I used the L before ... but I believe sigma has alot of good lenses now days ..
