G3 or S45 ???

I could get S45 for $399.99 and G3 for $545. Is G3 worth $145 more than S45?? I need some response as soon as possiable b/c the sale ends this weekend.

If you want to get semi-serious with photography, yes.

If you just want a point and shoot camera that can fit in your pocket, no.

but how is the pic quality comparison? if pic quality is better on G3, I'll pay extra to get it.

You can go to www.dpreview.com or www.imaging-resource.com and compare the images from both cameras (they post samples) and decide for yourself.

That way you don't have to take someone else's subjective opinion.

It is more than just pic quality... for example you can't put an external speedlite on an s45... you can the g3. That in itself makes a huge difference with flash photography.
