Is your 420ex made in Japan or Korea? Mine (USA warranty) is made in Korea.

So is mine and mine's a "gray". But that doesn't surprise me one bit. Like a lot of the companies in the USA which outsource the production of lower cost items abroad like Mexico, China, Malaysia, etc., companies in Japan are doing the same thing. But the quality control is still there.

However, most of the higher priced items or their main products, like the mid to upper end cameras for Canon, are still made in Japan.

Mine says its 'Made in Korea'. Bought in Canada with International Warranty.

That's where my wife was made as well - I can vouch for the high quality of that coutry's "products." :-)
