So there I was driving around on my patrol at about 2:30 am. I happened upon this beautiful 9 pointer in pursuit of his doe. So I stopped my cruiser about 20 feet away from this guy. Figured I would get a look at him for a few seconds and he would run away or attack my car. But he just went about his business as you can see. I'm calling all the other guys and then it dawned on me, I've got my camera, stop talking and start taking pictures. Not the greatest quality but I did not have much light to work with and I didn't want to get too crazy with the spot light or using flashes for obvious reasons. Tried these in manual at 2.8 and 4.0. 1/25 was the slowest I could even try with all the coffee I suck down ( I was a little better at 1/60). I had my Tamron 28-75 on the camera so I went with it. They hung around for a while and actually moved closer to me before they decided to leave. These pictures were taken with the window up because I did not want to spook them. Tried a little photoshop to brigthen the picture and reduce the spotlight glare and try a little USM. The one with just the Buck turned out pretty well I thought.

Not bad, certainly good biological content. Just hate to see those deer at 60 mph on the highway.

Caught him in the act. No wonder you thought he might attack your cruiser. Good catch.
