I bought an A60 about a month ago. It was great. However, recently it started showing me the low battery sign. I have tried three different brand new battery set but same problem. Whenever I put new batteries on, low battery sign appears. Has anyone else faced such a problem?

May I suggest purchasing some NiMh AA rechargeable batteries rated at 1600 mA or higher. You should be able to get a set of 4 with a charger around $20.

I'll try that, but aren't they supposed to work without any problem with Alkine batteries too..

I also have A60.

The Panasonic's alkaline that came with camera didn't last long (Surprise!!).

Now I am always using Kodak's "MAX" alkalines. They are relatively cheap and work for cca. 180 shots.

Warning: Don't use any different batteries than Alkaline!

Best regards

You can use NiMH, of course!

If you're still having problems, try checking the contacts for dirt. The manual mentions this and any dirt could effect the battery connection - this would make new batteries give a problem.

I think I read somewhere that the compact flash card might store battery level information as well. If you're still having problems, you could try reformatting the card.

I don't remember if I read this about the canon A60/70 or some other camera, so I could be mistaken. Reformatting will of course delete all the images and movies on the card so download them first.

Ditch the Alky's and go on Ebay and get your self so green 1800 Mah batteries and a GOOD charger.

I too have an A60 and with these batteries I can almost fill my 256 Meg CF card with out changing batteries!

I got 25 shots out of the batteries that came with the camera.

What I want to see is how many shots I can get out of some 2800 mah batteries that will be coming out this winter!
