I used to have 2 Tokina lenses:- the 17-50 and the 12-24. Then I bought a 5Dii so I sold both of them along with my 40D. Take a look on flickr as well. There are threads there dedicated to Toks.

wrong. that's the I version no the II.

no one used TOKINA 12-24mm II ?

The only difference between the I and II for Canon is the coating (nikon version had a motor added). It's supposed to handle flare better, but I doubt that you'll see much differences. I assume many of the shots in the thread are mkII's as well.
