Greetings,
I have a G3 and I already bought the Canon adapter (58mm) and I have the Canon Wide Angle Lens to go with that. After doing some research I decided it would be nice to have a UV/Circular Polarizer filter to go along with my Wide Angle lens since I would be doing a lot of landscape shots.

My question is this: Where does filter go on this setup? I was always under the impression that the filter always was on the last part of the camera - protecting the "element". However: First, I assume I have to have a 58mm filter as the Canon adapter is a 58mm adapter. AND the only place for threading in this setup is between the 58mm adapter and the wide angle lens.
So, if the filter goes between the adapter and the wide anlge lens, doesn't this mean it has to be threaded on both sides? - Connect the 58mm adapter to camera, connect 58mm filter to adapter and connect wide angle lens to 58mm filter......... right?

So, I guess the filter is not always on the last part of the camera.... right?

So, I want to get a Hoya filter and it looks like the only filter that is threaded on each side is the ultra series... am I wrong? - the sites I've found aren't very helpful with descriptions of the filters.

Thanks so much for your help!
Steve

I have the adaptor LA-DC58B then Hoya polariser then the Canon wide angle WC-DC58 . it works but there is vignetting at widest angle.

Hello There,
I would like to thank you for your reply, but I was hoping some more people would reply to this question.... I know this is a totally newbie question, but I just want to make sure that this is the proper location for the filter.............. so it there are any people out there who know this (and I know there must be) and can verify it I would greatly appreciate it!!!

Thanks,
Younes
