hey guys,
I just noticed this since the latest firmware update. 1.0.3.
When i take a rapid sequence of shots and i turn off the camera on the top LCD there is now a countdown timer as to how long it'll continue writing to the camera.
Anyone else experience this? Is this new or am I only noticing it now ?

I hope it's normal, mine does that too.
I think it's just the buffer dumping to the card.

but have you noticed that before this last firmware update?
I haven't..and you think Canon would tell us hey this is new..

To be honest mine came with the latest update so I have no idea what it did before.

Ok: I was looking at mine about 1 minute ago and I think I know why this happens.
If I have long exposure noise reduction switched on in the custom functions, it appears to take longer to post process in camera.
See if you have it switched on or off and try to repeat the write delay.

I have 1.0.2 on my 350D nd noticed the same thing. I think it has always done this.

I just checked on the 20D, does it too.. Kinda cool, I guess, mostly trivial to me.
