Quantum Flash

I'm having issues with the 550 flash on the 5D. Using the same settings on 1DMKII and the 5D, there just isn't enough light getting to the sensor on the 5D when shooting at distances of 12-15 feet.

I was looking at this Quantum (http://www.qtm.com/QFlash/?res_set=yes&res=1280&resh=1024) flash. Does anyone have any experience using one of their units?

They seem pretty nice...the guy at my local shop tries to get me to get one all the time. He claims it's better than my 580. PSH. I've personally only ever used the quantum lead acid batteries. All of their products seem to be very high quality and wonderfully made.
