The A57 - Snake Pass - which runs between Manchester and Sheffield.

This is just by the summit and is a wonderfully bleak place. The glowering skies merely reinforce this feeling.

It looks like summer is far behind us.

I like this, reminds me of A steven king or other well known horror writer's front cover, I would have loved it more if there was just one object in it to add some story to it, a lost shoe, or shopping trolly or a jumper or something?

I like it! Very moody. It's a bit of a shame that the road doesn't go up a slight hill, so that we can see where it's going in the background.

If the B&W is a PP effect, I'd be interested to see the original colour version.

I'm not sure you would! :^) The colours were very drab and dull. A conversion to B&W and a bit of dodging/burning turned it into something a little less drab.

That's a fair point, landscape's can be improved with something to the fore. There is a bus stop at this remote location, but I would have had to include a few cars parke close by to fit it in. I certainly intend to return during the winter so I'll see how I can improve the composition. Good suggestion. Thanks.
