I've just purchased the Speedlite 580EX and having just read the manual I am excited about the creative possibilities.

I would like to explore the possibilities of stoboscopic flash using the 'multi' mode and am looking for advice and examples.

Please post your examples...I need some inspiration!

here's a shot I took one day when I was playing around with the stroboscopic flash.

It's a little difficult balancing the exposure I thought.

Love the shot cmM...and I remember seeing it before.
I presume you needed to do lots of experimenting to get the settings right?

I think the formula is flash fires/frequency = shutter speed
ie: 10 shots/5hz = 2 secs etc.

Yes for the entire scene. But will that get your object in motion properly exposed? Not all the time... that's why you have to play around with the settings a little bit until you get it right.
