There are slight differences with how Big Ed works
with the 10D. The on-off switch doesn't seem
to make a difference. Is there anything else I should
know about this grip's functions, that differ from
the manual? it's my first Big Ed
though I had a D30 for two years. Thanks.

On my Big Ed (also on the 10D) the on off switch functions as it should. ie: the switch turns on or off the other switches on the BG-ED,. but has no effect on the camera itself.

Presumably this is to turn off the BG-ED's own switches so that when shooting normally you don't bump or alter the BG-ED's shutter, dial etc.

I use the * button for focusing. Does the BG-ED3 replicate this button so that I can easily focus with my thumb even when shooting vertical and using the shutter release on the BG-ED3?

Thanks.

Same grip, same function.. The on/off switch turns on/off the controls on BigEd.. nothing more.. just like on D30/60
