Captured 40 Raw images with 10D and used FVU on Mac to convert to tiff. Next time I opened the files half of the images were grossly underexposed by at least 3 stops? When first saved all images were properly exposed.
What caused the change?

hehe... they were saved as linear tiffs. You've got to use a Photoshop action (or another program) to "re-brighten" them up, such as Pekka's LS or Fred Miranda's linear actions.
not to fear, all is well.
welcome to the world of RAW.

Thanks for your input
I opened them in PhotoShop 7 (16 bit) and they were way
underexposed. Even when viewed in PS 7 browser window
the images appeared the same, yet the remaining 22 out of 40
captures and converted were fine?
