a70 problem for new user

Hi-
Just got the a70 and am having a problem with image quality.
This is my first camera of any sort so I'm a bit lost as to what might be happening.
The link below is a test shot I took with the camera set to auto - M2 and superfine.
All of my shots, regardless of the settings seem to have horizontal lines in the image.
I left the image untouched so you can see the quality. I'm assuming that the quality should be much better ... but like I said this is my first camera.

Try a different memory card. (call it gut feeling but I think it's the card)
Are you using a usb and downloading photos directly from your camera or a card reader? Either way it may be a good idea to try plugging it into a different usb outlet on your computer. If that doesn't work try a different usb cable. Try another computer to unload your photos to.
If all these fail return the camera.

I'm going to pick up a new CF card today and give it a try. I've already tried the other suggestions.

Well- we got our replacement A70 today. And... it works perfectly! Beautiful picture quality!
I guess it was just a defective camera the first time. Of course when you are a total rookie at this you don't know what to think! Lol!
