This picture was shot a ISO 800 bulb f/5.0 left the shutter open for an hour. It was over exposed and here's is my attempt at trying to save it . Previous pictures were shot with lower iso and different aperatures. but the lower the iso is seems the more hot pixels I get. any suggestions. comment, critizisms, and edits. welcome.

I like the red windmill version - a good save. From an amateur astronomer's point of view, the number of stars recorded in the first image is amazing. What lens and camera did you use?

The second makes an interesting abstract.

Thanks Harold, I used a 300D with the 18-55 mm EF-S kit lens.

That is a very cool image. An excellent save. I've done some star trails with a 300D and the kit lens. Shooting star trails with the 300D is a difficult task because noise gets out of hand.
What did you do to reduce the amount of noise in these images? A one hour exposure should have produced a much noisier image.

I have no clue. Here's the same shot with ISO 100 and 20 min exposure. This tends to cause more hot pixels with lower ISO. ?
