Everytime I try converting a RAW image to Tif, Jpeg, or any other format, I get the message "Error Saving File"

This happens with almost every single file, and I am wondering what is wrong... if the files are corrupt, or what... it dosent ALWAYS do this... but it does it over half of the time... and if I try doing the same image twice it still gets the same error message.

Thanks,
Brent

What software are you using to convert the Canon RAW image? If not the Canon conversion utility, give that a try.

Although some applications say they support RAW format, this is unlikely to be the Canon RAW format.

I am using the software that came with the camera... but I have also tried breeze browser...

could it be a ram issue... cause it dosent seem to happen as much as soon as I restart my comp.

Depending upon which camera you have, and when you purchased it, the software bundle can vary. Also, there is an updated RAW conversion utility from Canon avaliable. It is the Canon Utilities RAW Image Coverter 2.

You can use it to batch convert Canon RAW files to 8-bit or 16-bit TIFF files. The 8-bit TIFF files can then be converted to whatever you want with virtually any graphics program. The 16-bit is much more limited as to what programs will open/read these files. If you are converting to 16-bit TIFF, this might be part of your problem, if your other software does not support it.
