Hi All,
had a great day at Pukekohe yesterday shooting anything that moved, so here are a few images from the meet. Humble apologies if I've named anyone wrongly, as I've not much idea who's who and had to work out car numbers.

to begin:

The great Ken Smith,
being pushed from the grid after stalling seconds from the start indicating his preference to start from pit lane
(the actual discussion seemed much more direct but you get the idea)

all in all not too bad a day out, got a little sun/windburnt, but learned to use the thumb to focus, and found AI servo doesn't do too badly - thanks for the tips!

These are really good!

And you know what they say about property prices in Auckland.

They are some good photos. Using the thumb to focus is easy when you get to use to it. I have also found that I can leave the focus point at a point on the track and shot when a car gets to that point.

Nice shots. #2 & #4 appeal most to me.

nice pics

not sure why fcuk (french connection uk) would be sponsoring a car on the other side of the world.. seems a long way to go just for an out of fashion t-shirt :)

Great pics Duncan. :)

I was having to get down on the floor, and pick a focus point on my manual 400mm. Worked out ok, except for the heat haze, lack of contrast, and underexposure.

Speaking of burntness. I got burnt, bright red on Monday, and I can honestly say, it's very difficult for me to get burnt. I usually tan, and only burn on extreme hot days, if I'm out all day in Jan/Feb. Being cloudy, this caught me by surprise. :(
