I have a D60 and a bad ankle.

I need a medium priced ($50 - 150) monopod/walking stick.

I don't need a mountain climbing or serious trekking type of stick. I live in a rural area and walk around the woods a lot. I need support for my ankle and for my camera.

Any suggestions for something that will do both reasonably well. Thanks.

A quick "froogle" on
"Walking stick" monopod
will bring you a lot of info (sorry, no experience to share on this one)

I have found the Gitzo G1564L works for me.

I am over 6 feet tall and this monopod will extend to my eye level so I don't have to bend over to use the 10D.

Also, by using a belt mounted gadget bag mounted in front, I can pass the monopod through the one of the bag's tripod carrying straps and have a very steady brace for use with longer focal length lenses.

Cheers,

Ironic,i was bought one by my neighbour for lending them my d30,they pinched it again this week as they've gone to the Eurovision song contest & use the camera indoors.
I havent found i've needed to use it yet,the one i've got is very light & would be good if used, good luck
