just wanted to post a picture I took while in NYC last weekend. Did a yankee stadium tour and then the package included lunch at Mickey Mantles Restaurant, which is at central park south, near the ritz carlton.
i live in the country area of NJ, so it's nice to get into the city sometimes.

here is a picture I took with my new a620, with the foilage setting.
i'm not a professional, so don't be too harsh on my lack of a quality picture.
i did notice a big difference in the foilage colors when not using the setting specific for it.

i had trouble getting the picture to upload, because it was so large in it's orignal file size. i see other pictures on this site that are much bigger in size,
i used the compress feature of the picture program but still couldn't find a way to get it the right file size. ended up with something 30kb if i saved it bigger, it was 175kb or bigger.
can anyone help me out here? thanks!

this picture looks so much better when in in a bigger size.

Nice picture. I use ACDSee to resize and manage pictures, and it has all kids of features. The color on the trees is great!

Nice pic, but would be better at larger size. What program do you use? In PS, use "Save For Web", which allows you to manipulate JPG quality setting until size objective is achieved.

If you're not willing to spend the big bucks on the Photoshop Suite, get GIMP.
The best free open source image editor out there. It's what most people use in Linux and it has been ported to Windows. Sometimes you hit a bump or two along the way .. but you can't beat it for the price :) Plus it get get bettter and better with every realease.
It does all the resizing and compression adjustments you'll ever need to do anything for the web.

Here's a link http://gimp-win.sourceforge.net/

Looks good, needs to be cropped a bit. Glad to see you had a good time in NYC.

i do have photoshop limited edition. not sure there is a compress or a save to web on this version. i couldn't find it. i ended up using MS office picture manager or whatever that program is called. i normally just use it as a fast viewer to see how pictures came out. i don't do a lot PP on any picture, other than resizing them or taking any redeye out.
i can't justify spending a few hundred bucks on the new photoshop because i don't do photography for a living and can't make that money back.
i clicked the option for compress, and then chose WEB and this is the size that it went down too. i'll try messing around in photoshop to see if i can save it to be bigger, but still not over 100k.
