Too me, it works. I think a crop with the baby/basket to the right side of the frame vs centered would be better, but I like it...a lot

Thanks everyone.

This partially came from a clients shoot last weekend. I got the shots I needed, but not necessarily the shots I wanted - the little one was having a rough time and was changing sleeping patterns (she was 12 days old). I took a shot of the basket at my house today and combined it in photoshop with the pink shot....my first time doing a composite. I used photoshop, aperture 3 and NIK....but was finished in less than 10 minutes.

I like the frame but I am not too keen on pp unless this is the style you want to go for. I would maybe lower the vibrance/saturation and give it a midtone boost. I much prefer the colour rendition on the one with the basket on its own.I am not sure about all that black/darkness at the top either.
Hope this helps.

Like the 2nd crop better. A little light fall off causes the top of the hat to be lost a little in the dark background. Maybe a little backlight? Nice shot!
