Hello, pretty dumb question but I've spent the last 30 minutes looking through the entire box for my new camera and reading these TINY cards and can't find it. I figured some of you might be able to help me...

I am the proud new owner of a Canon EOS-20D, I am switching from the Nikon world :p

I made copies of my sales receipt and was about to fill out the warranty card and send it in but it doesn't say where I have to mail it in! One card says "Do not mail, keep this warranty card" and I guess I use it if I ever need warranty service. Another one of the warranty cards says at the top "Dealer Record of Canon Purchase".

So.... do I not fill out a warranty card and send it into Canon? All my other cameras I've either sent in the warranty card or like on Nikons filled out the warranty information on their website. I did not find anything on Canon's website.

Also, I am about to fill out the rebate form, I hard "heard" that you can get a rebate on the battery grip and get the "double your rebate with Canon", I ordered that as well, but I don't see it listed in the rebate .pdf so I am guessing I get no rebate of any kind with the battery grip, is this true? Just want to make sure and figured you all would know more than me.

Thanks for any help you can provide, for now I'm gonna go out and shoot some pictures with my new toy

You do not send in a warranty card or submit online for Canon cameras or lenses. If you need warranty work done then you send a copy of the sales receipt along with the camera or lens for repair. More Info (http://consumer.usa.canon.com/ir/controller?act=PgComSmModDisplayAct&keycode=2113&fcategoryid=215&modelid=10464)

The battery grip is not eligible for the double and triple rebate.

Congrats on the new camera!

I always register mine online. If there are issues with a specific piece of Canon hardware you will get an email from them.

Thanks everyone for the info. I didn't see anywhere that said I had to send it in so I just wanted to make sure.

BTW I sold all my Nikon cameras and lenses and purchased my 20D after I heard about the D200 and read the previews. I personally think the D200 is the 20D's equal. The D200 has a handful of specs that are higher than the 20D, but not $500 worth... at least to me. $500 buys some decent glass :)
