The image is natural and is how it came out of the camera. This was a long exposure for a night shot. Let me know what you think.

I am trying to reply quickly because I want to be the first to say how much I like this shot. What a stunner!

The colors are amazing! The light on the dock is fantastic! Everything (almost - see below) about this is perfect. You have a winner here.

OK, but what do I think would improve this shot? Well, I might (need to see results) remove the light and reflection on the far shore. Also, I would move the top half of the moon down and give it a more round appearance.

Still, great shot!

Im sure i saw this shot on here before. Was that really how it came out of the camera as last time i seem to remember you posting the original also with a different foreground? If that wasnt you my apologies, either way its a lovely scene.

I'm guessing you uploaded the wrong image ?

I love the colors and composition. IMO I think it would look better w/o the moon entirely. I find it somewhat distracting in that it overpowers the rich blues of the sky and water and contrasting browns of the dock and green of the lawn. Also I would clone out the reflection of the moon in the water.

Easy for me to say.

It's a stunning shot.

My first thought was to agree with Blue Deuce, that the moon seems wrong for the picture somehow. It would look very different cropped out - and remove those few specular highlights and the lone white star.

Might look better or you may feel it has lost something.

Beautiful picture! But I like more your previous "original out of the camera", the one you published at the bottom of the thread here:

I like this shot a lot, but the grass is really bothering me. It looks like it was slapped on the picture.

Oh, COME ON!

That is clearly a different photograph!

For one thing, they were taken during different times of the year! Look at how the grass is lush and green on this shot, and not on the other! This is a summer shot and the other is not. Two different ones, by a wide margin!

Also, look at the person on the dock in the other shot. This shot has NO ONE on the dock. Again, clear evidence that this is a different shot!

Personally, I applaude someone who will go back to the same place over and over for months on end, till he gets the shot he wants. That is work and dedication!

People are so jaded!

I like it but am trying to imagine what it'd be like without the green foreground..?

Well, DUH!

Don't you take Clouds with you when you go out shooting? I find them very handy when the sky is featureless. Another thing that I never go out without is an ample supply of Fog. Makes for great cemetery shots! I bought a whole bunch of Fire and Brimstone on EBay last year but found I rarely use it. However, the best deal I ever got was when I picked up a couple dozen Rays of Sunlight. You can set them for any luminance, from f4 to f28. Free shipping, too. When I use those with the clouds, I get some wicked cool results.

...the way you seemlessly added the person and got rid of that blotchy grass with the same pattern is very well done.

Maybe you can fix that lens flare because the water color and dock are awesome.

Man I opened a whole can of worms by posting the wrong image. The picture posted at the start of the thread has been gone through some PP. The person on the dock was removed and the grass was "slapped" on there. The colors are all orginial for the sky. I did repost this because I wanted the crtique even though it is not adviseable to repost the same image in different threads. Next time I will be more careful as to not start a crazy train of posts like this :-)
