These were taken with a S45 on an overcast day, the first I cropped and did a "little" color correction and then saved for web.
The second, I did nothing to except save for web.

They were shot with a manual focus, on the Program AE setting. I have had the camera for about two weeks, it is the first camera I have owned. The only other cameera I have ever used was a disposable when I was 12 at Disneyland. I want to become a petter photographer, so any input is welcome. Thanks.

Well you are off to a flying start.

In the lower image the flowers are "running out of the picture" on the right, but what a good start you have made. You show great promise as a photographer.

Hope you post more soon.

Best wishes

Very good start. I like the way the colors turned out. Some people will tell you to only attempt macro shots like these on bright days. On a sunnier day, you would have gotten a sharper, more detailed image. However, I think sometimes macros of flowers look better when shot on overcast days. The colors of the flowers seem to glow againts the dull background. That is just my opinion.

You might want to crop your photos tighter. The sidewalk on the right side of the photo is distracting and serves no purpose. You can crop it out.

Nice start

Dave
