Sad to say we often get a lot of people who join up here just to post Spam. We Moderators hate Spam, and delete it as soon as we find it. We also ban the spammers so they can't do it again. Alas, sometime spammers find ways to slip past our safeguards, so sometimes Spam lingers until a Mod just happens to stumble onto it.

You Can Help!

If you see Spam DO NOT REPLY to the thread.
Replying draws unwanted attention to the thread, it's like free advertising :)

Instead, report it ;)

Underneath any user's name is a Little Red Triangle. If you click on it you can send an email to the Moderators letting them know about the Spam post.

By the way, this also works if some other member posts something that is objectionable or simply shouldn't have been posted. Should you find such an post please click on the Little Red Triangle and let us know the post exists and why it bothers you.

While Spam will be deleted immediately we do take a different approach with objectionable posts from otherwise upstanding members. It's possible that the post or comment may be borderline, and the Mods might not agree with you. If so, we Mods will talk about it amongst ourselves and figure out the best course of action. With such posts we usually like to talk with the poster, make them understand the error of their ways, and then let them remove the objectionable part. (So this may take some time - bear with us.) If the objectionable user doesn't fix the post we *may* edit or delete the post - but we really don't like to censor so this is a last resort.

If you see Spam or objectionable posts, please remember the Little Red Triangle.

Only one thing to add and that is if You suspect a post is spam then report it but don't post a response to it. Posting a response will just give the spammer more exposure which is exactly what the goal is.

Also remember do not post any replies to spam threads. Just report them.
Any time you respond to a spammer it also makes our work harder.

Just to get this back into to peoples mindset...

Please never reply to spam!

report it and it will be gone shortly.
Replying gives the spammer more attention, you are in fact helping just as if you were posting the same spam.

So don't do ti! :)

thanks
