The man on the left appeared to be checking noise levels of a group of performers and I believe he ended up shutting down their show. The gentleman on the right seemed to disagree with him about this, though I didn't catch their conversation.

I left it a bit dark during post processing, the original was correctly exposed but lacked contrast.

Higher quality available here (http://gallery.kerensky.net/bw/noisechecker?full=1).

Comments welcomed.

Excellent capture of human discourse. B&W is right for this scene.

Decided to PP the raw again and came up with this. Not so dark and has a slight sepia tinge to it. Not sure which one I like best right yet though. Also my first time playing with the channel mixer to desaturate and I like that some of the contrast is retained when doing that way. A couple curves layers and selective color and that's the result up there.

Any thoughts?

I definitely enjoy your first, darker version better. The darker readings help associate the story to the photo. Shutting down a show is kinda low, so the darker colors reflect this. I love the shot.
