I shoot sports with a Mark II 1 D with a 300 mm 2.8 lens. Is there a way I can lock in my shutter speed and or F stop and the camera will make the appropiate ISO adjustment?
Thanks,
JS

My 1Ds does ISO bracketing, does the 1D Mk II? There is no ISO mode but I see what you want to do.

Welcome to the Forums.
HaHa.
Short answer? No.
This is like asking, "Can I have my camera switch films from shot to shot?"
Would be nice feature wouldn't it?

As Cosworth notes, on the 1-D MkII you can set Tv and Av and have the camera shoot a sequence of 3-5-or even-7 shots varying only the ISO. In High Speed Continuous Mode I can set Tv, set Av, and shoot a 7 shot ISO bracket sequence in one second. Whoa!. This is done with the 1-D Personal Functions you set connected to a computer.

While a super feature I use a lot, that's not what you're asking for.

There are some Point & Shoot Digicams now with this feature as part of their do-it-all for consumer features.

Enjoy the camera.

I have a different camera, but mine has an "ISO Assist" option. This does exactly what you describe. Have a look in your manual - you might have a similar option

Many digital cameras have an ISO setting called Auto - that's as much as you are going to get. It provides a boost when needed.
