I'm picking up my D10 today with a 256Mb CF card, what other things do I need and should I buy them online rather than in the store?
Any help appreciated.....

Try here:

You will soon (probably) ask what lens you need. Try searching the forum there's loads of good advice and opinion.
Ultimately, you'll buy what you can afford, what you think you can get away with, or what looks all shiny, new, and exciting! I say:
B U Y E V E R Y T H I N G! :D
I'd suggest take your time. The camera itself will entertain you for weeks alone.
Good luck.

Do you mean 10D? I have not heard of a D10...

1. buy them online if significantly cheaper, if same price or only a little bit more then support your local store (my philosophy- based on liking to see what I am getting)
2. I highly recommend the following
A. BG-3D battery grip and second battery
B. RS-80N3 remote switch
C. An external flash (such as 550EX)
If planning on traveling without a laptop pickup a picture pad or similiar device and at least one spare CF card.
Just the things I would get first.

I have a 380EX, is it compatable with the 10D?

That is a very big question....
1) Battery Grip
2) Extra Batteries
3) Flash
4) Memory Card
5) Lenses
Lots more......if you having lots of $$$$...buy everything....
Keep shooting.....

I took my first shots tonight with the 550ex flash. It is a great piece to add.
I also invested in a 1GB card. Worth every penny.

If you're wanting a remote switch which can do more than remote shutter release (and if you can stomach the $80.00 variance) I'd recommend the TC-80N3 over the RS-80N3.
I returned my RS for the TC and am very pleased with the additional functionality in timed, interval and sequential shooting through the Remote Switch.
