G3 user/owner last 3 years; just got the S80 but no "large" SD card yet. It just occurred to me that the speed of the card could (maybe) be a limiting factor in this (S80) camera. Do I need to be shopping for the higher speed cards such as the Sandisk Ultra II? Or do the standard SD cards (cheaper) do OK? Has this been an issue in my G3's standard CF card and I'm not aware of it?
Question pertains to camera operation only, not downloading images.
Thanks for input.

of course a regular sd card would work. but if your taking burst shots at 8mp, the camera may have a hard time getting the file off its built in memory onto a regular sd card. now i havent read about the s80 indepth but if it does support faster cards then by all means its worth it.

i have a lexar 80x pro cf card and when compared to my regular 96mb pretec 4x card, there is a huge noticeable speed difference when used in my digital rebel. when taking burst shots, the camera is ready to take the next set of bursts faster because of the faster card.
