I've finally got my 10D to a point where I'm pretty comfortable with it. Last few cards of shots have had a spot in the image. It is highlighted in the attached link

This happens with all lenses that I have. I don't think that this is a dead pixel. Any suggestions/ideas.
Other than that thing, I kind of like the shot.

My first guess would be dust or other debris on the filter in front of the sensor. There are numerous threads on this board about sensor cleaning. Set your camera on manual and put the shutter speed on blub. Without a lens attached depress the shutter button and visually examine the sensor. You may be able to see the debris quite clearly. A good cleaning would be my first course of action.
Good luck to you.

I'd go with that too. It happened to me. It's not a dead pixel. I had about two or three spots on my lens and then cleaned it and ended up with 50. Every time I cleaned it after that, I ended up with around 50 but all in different places. Eventually, I gave up and it went back. Others have had some success.
Search the forum for the other threads and you will read about how people got on.
Martin.

Thought that I would give an update on this. I tried cleaning the camera myself but just ended up moving the spot around.
I finally took it into Canon's service center and they cleaned it on the spot. Took less than 10 minutes and everything is great again.

I've just got my 10D back from Canon. Took it to the dealer two weeks ago, they forwarded it on. Taken a few sample pics and what do you know? Half a dozenn dust spots remain! I'm off back to the dealer now. If it has to go back to Canon again then they will have had my camera longer than me!
There's got to be an easier way!

Sorry to see that. Just used mine after my last cleaning attempt & the spots have all gone. I've bought a BIG squeezy blower & will now make sure there's no bits on my lenses when I change them.
