Hey guys,
This is probably a dumb question, but I'll ask anyway at the risk of sounding , well, dumb.
I've always taken outside nature shots in sunlight, so I hardly ever use a flash, except maybe a ring flash on occasion.
Can someone explain in some detail about the flash exposure compensation ability of the 10D. I understand how to do it, but what exactly is happening? Is there an actual decrease or increase in the flash Firing Intensity?
What is happening in the camera during this flash exposure compensation use?
In a similar realm, when I do use the built in flash for indoor use, it always washes out my shots and I lose natural skin tones. When I use a piece of white cloth over the built in flash to diffuse the burst, I get much better and softer tones. I know they make diffusers for external flashes, but does anyone have any suggestions on diffusing the built in flash as I don't always want to attach my 380EX.
Thanks all..
CMH

Its a decrease in intensity of flash. works well when you get used to it.

No thing as a dumb question.

Just dumb people who won't ask questions.

I never use the built-in flash. How much extra weight is the external flash? Can't be that much. And. I use diffuser with it.
