ID pictures

I've been asked to do some school id pictures and I hope someone who has done them will give me some insight into equipment needed. Which camera, the G2 or 10D? Is a laptop required? Which printer would you recommend?

What criteria narrowed it down to those two?

Does the school have any process in place? Are they supplying the equipment? A lot of places use specialized ID/passport cameras for this sort of thing

the school isn't supplying anything. These are just two cameras that I have.
