I have a T3i, and want a wide angle lens for landscapes and nice wide indoor shots.

I have looked at the 10-20mm Sigma, which is currently at the top of my list. (http://www.amazon.com/Sigma-10-20mm-4-5-6-Digital-Cameras/dp/B0007U00X0?tag=amaz98-20)

I really dont have a good idea whats out there, and do not wanna be disappointed in my choice. I understand its a personal opinion with most glass, but I should have taken the advice of people (with far more experience and knowledge) here before I got my camera. So will not blindly buy the 10-20mm, without hearing what the alternatives are.

As I said, my main goal is going to be landscapes, indoor, architecture, so a pretty big range... /shrug

My current glass is..
Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 XR Di LD (on the way from potn member) :)
50mm 1.8
Kit lens- 55-250mm 18-55mm

Thanks in advance!

Personally, I'd save your pennies until you can get the Canon 10-22.

I love this lens. If it were not for the EF-S mount, I'm sure that this would be an "L" lens.

I've just ordered a Canon 10-22. I'm very much a believer of 'you pay for what you get'.

I cant believe I posted this in the wrong forum.... All you need to do is post a couple of photos taken with "the best under $500 wide angle lens" and you'll be relevant and squared away.

If value/$ is a consideration, I decided on the Tokina 12-24 for a bunch of reasons.

Its more about preventing physical harm from the wife regarding my new addiction. I told her "an SLR is like 1400 bucks, no big deal", well now at about $3500 in 6 weeks, shes getting testy.:o

Anyways, I have a little room to move, but the higher I go, will come with consequences.

There is also the fact I am to new to really know my "niche", so not sure what I want out of different glass. I do know I want a wideangle, especially since I live in alberta, and have a ton of lakes, streams, mountains and open space to shoot.
