I gotta tell you. These guys are CLEARLY listening to what we want. Come on now, they've got a 14mm f/2.8, 35mm f/1.4, 85mm f/1.4 and now a 24mm f/1.4? (Amongst other lenses)
If money gets any tighter and I can afford to give up AF I'd buy a set of their primes.

Why do the Nikon versions get the chip but the Canons don't? The link in the OP's sig has info on the chip, but you need to attach it yourself!
I'm looking forward to this lens. I was thinking about getting the 25mm Zeiss f/2 when released but this will be about $1k less.

I saw this the other day. deciding if I need 24mm with 35mm. Or just wait to see what they release next. I have their 14 and 85 with the 35 on the way. If they ever do a 200 f2 or 2.8 I will be all manual focus.

Like the 8mm FE, this one sharpens up nicely at f8. Not so much at wider apertures.

From the Rokinon facebook page. A guy asked the question and they answered,
"We are working on making the Canon versions with focus confirmation chips. It is not as simple as it is with Nikon. We hope to have them available by the end of the year"

good question. I would say it will be plenty sharp wide open like the 35 is.

Simple. Look at the pics posted on that one page. (http://www.optyczne.pl/4604-nowo%C5%9B%C4%87-Samyang_24_mm_f_1.4_ED_AS_UMC_-_zdj%C4%99cia_przyk%C5%82adowe.html) They're the same shots taken at different f-stops. The sharpest ones are at 5.6 and 8.

Sorry but the f1,4 and f2 samples are quite soft. The samyang 35 f1,4 is much sharper at those aperures.

This is what I was saying. And some early reviews confirm this. You need to get to 5.6 or 8 to get sharpness from this lens. If it was priced at ~$300 like the fisheye, that would be ok. But for the major bucks they want for this thing, the sharpness levels are pitiful.
That said, the review I read was by the same person who shot the sample pics, so there is a possibility of a bad copy of the lens or other camera/user error. I'm waiting for more of the lenses to hit the market and see what other reviewers think of it.

I'm not sure if anyone has bought this amazing looking bargain lens yet, but hold on until later this month, or even May

It seems they have fixed the softness issue on the release version. I'm debating on if I need anything wider than 35mm.

Where have you read this? Got any links? I'd be interested in this lens if they have fixed the softness issues.

Is this only with the Samyang brand? Or are Rokinon lenses "fixed" too? Because I could snag that one on Amazon right now.
Furthermore, where can I purchase this lens that has been "fixed"?

This is where I was thinking of buying, as long as it's the "fixed" version.
