I'm new to Canon D, having recently switched over from Nikon 35. I had been considering a Fuji S2, but that 10D is sah-weet!! And those Canon lenses... oh, yeah! (Fortunately, I didn't have that much invested in Nikon.)

I've never had any trouble with the Nikon flash system. It's always done a stellar job. I've read, however, that Canon's flash system can be a bit tempermental.

I don't have a flash yet. What do you wedding shooters use? The 550ex or something else? What has been your experience with the Canon flash system? Any tips on how to get the best results?

Thanks!

Yes, 550EX. It becomes vitally important to read the manuals and make settings correctly (e.g. Auto). There are several ways to set up wrong between the flash and the camera. I recommend to set up some tests before you go to the chapel, and then again when you arrive at the chapel.

If you don't know that your camera is going to try to force in some flash compensation (due to your settings), then you're in trouble again.

If you use the correct off-camera cord, then that works fine.
