Hi. I've just purchased a Canon A70 and noticed that as you approach the "full-zoom" position (3x), the image in the optical viewfinder becomes blurry. Is this normal or is my unit defective? The LCD image is fine. Thanks in advance.

did you press the shutter button halfway through to invoke focussing ?
my A70 focusses nicely at max opt zoom, although not always automatically when you switch between two very different objective ranges

This is not normal, because you can't see the effect of focussing in your viewfinder. The viewfinder should be sharp even if the camera isn't focussed.

I had the same problem with my old Kodak. They said that the optics in the viewfinder were misaligned. I say exchange for a new one.
