I know most shots are of the artsy/fashion type, but the 135L really proved to be a great lens in the low light of an aquatic center today. Here is my little girl cleaning it up today. She's 6.

Hey there brother !! Thanks for the comment...it was a fun meet, yet it was out in the boonies in Caldwell. Nice sunrise on the way out. Kept wanting to stop and get some shots of the farmlands. Place was packed! The ole' 5DII and it's low light performance with the 135L @ 2.0 made for just enough light catchin' to get me SS of around 800-1250. AF was quick enough in one shot even!! Love the combo...

Thanks guys! Really love this lens, it makes a big difference every time I put it on my camera! I was literally pressing my back against a wall and even tilted the camera so I could frame this shot, very pleased with it :D

Well I can't offer any B-ball shots, but I can offer up some skiing action of my little girl. Fresh off her win in the 50 freestyle yesterday it was off to the slopes for some downhill action. I will say she's a better swimmer than she is skier, but still no to shabby. Again, the 5DII and 135L working out great for action! Check out a few pages back in the 5DII thread for some local winter kayaking shots I put up. I tell you, I prob. don't know what I'm missing (which is a prob. a good thing) but in even somewhat decent light, the 5DII is proving to be fine.

ids, she's only 6? Man in a decade she's really gonna be a contender on a lot of levels! I have a 16 yr old cousin that's reportedly ranked #1 in the World in the Jr. Decathlon, with 2 Gold medals to his credit already. He also won a National competion in a music search with his 4 man band...they won a $100,000 recording contract in Nashville and opened at Disneyland Orlando this past season. Keep her working, she may be a champ in the Olympics before ya know it! :)

Ok, I have to say this cause if it could happen you, Daniel are one that could pull it off. This guy has an Indian Chief look to him, and if you could get them in American Indian attire, Blackfoot, Apache maybe and catch em on the move...wheel spokes blurred from movement, background giving that look of speed...man he could be leading a charge. Wouldn't that be awesome! You'd have to track em and shoot at the right moment......

Thanks man, don't hesitate the lens is incredible on crop too, just a little more difficult to handle you'd need faster shutter speeds and of course more space. Check these, most of the shots are with 135L + T1i or 7D

I also got a macro bellow for it. Doing some macro images and portrait with this lens. Can`t wait. It is supposed to be razor sharp.

I have heard some lenses have difficult/unstable or slow autofocus. Any serial number or other clues on how to check that?

Yea, I heard its rare with this lens... I thought it was very sharp up close until I was shooting portraits from 6 meters and farther... but thaks Butch, can't wait to get a new copy...

Alchamy, those are both a little scary...looks as though a crash is imminent in both of em. Nice capture though, good timing....it's gotta be tough to catch em coming in airborne like that!

Nice shot Sandi, man don't ya just love that bokeh? I'm still in between, trying to convince myself that the 100mm 2.8L serves the same purpose as it too has nice bokeh...gives me cash for the new cam when it comes out!

Yea ... I've corrected that. I was so disturbed by not having the DOF I wanted I just jumped to conclusions w/o checking first. Should have been @ 5.6. :)

Help guys. My 135 wont reach infinity focus. Its crazy sharp to about 30 ft. It wont focus at in finity manual either. I have the same results on the 5d mark ii and the 40d. Any ideas??

I may just have to get one of these....seems like it does so much for subject separation and a very unique image.

For the price of them, its almost a steal. Would be much more transportable than a 70-200 2.8
