I am both new to this site and also Canon specific digital cameras. I recently had my Sony Digital Camera ('Heretic' - I hear you cry) stolen , but have seen the light and decided to replace it with a S45.

To compliment the 32MB flash Card that comes as standard with the camera I will need to buy a card with greater memory. Could someone explain to me the difference between a Type I and Type II card and whether both are compatible with the S45 camera.

Also with the amount of Flash Cards on the market, I have no idea between the relative differences of these cards, and because of the large disparity in cost between some brands, does the adage 'the more expensive the better the quality', apply in this case?

I am living in Sydney, Australia and have seen the Mittoni website, selling compact flash cards from Aus$106 for a 256Mb. Does anyone have any views on this brand, positive or negative??

Thanks one and all
